I think Jim Thompson (registered on this site) has direct links to this family. It may be worthwhile pm'ing him to see if he knows more

Another good team effort happening here. And another item I will try to look at in the next few days - given a chance. Would appreciate a little more information to work from though, if possible. Places of some of the abovementioned events would be a good start and I can then check what other information I might have available here. Let me know and I will do my best. Ian

Hi George. Yes, I have direct ties with this line and would like to share and hopefully add to both our understanding of this line.
James Penberthy MARTIN bap 18 JUL 1824 at Amalveor Towednack was my great great grandfather. He married Ann NICHOLLS on 08 SEP 1849 at Towednack. I am not certain of Ann NICHOLLS; I have her bap 02 DEC 1827 at Madron as well as a possible bap 31 AUG 1828 at Paul and I am not sure even if either is correct.
My great grandfather was Anne's brother Andrew Nicholls MARTIN.
I have more on most of the children, but nothing on Anne except I assume she was born ABT MAR 1851 at Trowan or Anjou Green. Actually they are just across the road from one another but in different parishes.
I have a total of 8 children listed.

Sorry for having not acknowledged this latest (6 weeks old I know ) but you seem to be working on it okay. I will try to revisit this as soon as I can, especially given the Towednack connection. Keep working and I will catch up. Ian

another possible: Annie Martin m Matthew Mitchell Bryant 1873 1881 @ Vorvas Down: Matthew Bryant 28 Amy 29 Mary E, 6 Margaret 4 Amy 2 Source Citation: Class: RG11; Piece: 2340; Folio: 80; Page: 18; Line: ; GSU roll: 1341562. If Amy = Annie then we might have the right folk - nothing later so they may have gone overseas. However I am only offering this as a possibility as I know there are others with far more information about the St Ives families From my database I have: HALSETOWN MATTHEW MITCHELL BRYANT married ANNIE MARTIN 02 Nov 1873 BANNS W. H. DRAKE RICHARD SIMMONS CHARLES RICHARDS HALSETOWN HALSETOWN MINER SPINSTER JOHN BRYANT/ FARMER JAMES MARTIN/ MINER HALSETOWN HALSETOWN NEITHER SIGNED, HE 21, SHE 22

Hmmmm - I cannot locate the baptism of James Penerthy Martin at Towednack in 1824. (Towednack Baptisms 1720-1840)
Most odd.
The 1851 Census shows James Penberthy Martin (27) with wife Ann (24) and daughters Mary Jane (1) and Ann (1 mth) living at Anjou Green, St Ives.
All have a stated birthplace of St Ives.
In 1861 James birthplace is Towednack, Ann is Madron and all children (Mary J, Ann, Richard N, James p, Cathrine A and John H) are born St Ives.
This time the surname is 'Martins' and they are Trowan.
In 1871 the family is at Trelvagan although Ann is not present.
Again it is 'Martins'. James born Towednack and all children (Mary J, Richard, James, Catherine A, John, Andrew and Elizabeth) are born St Ives.
In 1881 the 'Martins' family is again at Trowan.
Apart from the addition of grandson William H Martins (5) the only difference is that now Ann states her birthplace as Gulval.
In 1891 the family is again known as 'Martin'.
We now have only James (64), Ann (62) and grandson William H (15) living at Trowan.
Once again Ann states her birthplace as Gulval - but I have not been able to find a baptism for her in that Parish.
The closest would be:-
1830 22 Aug Ann Phillips c/o William (Labourer) & Mary Nicholls of Garris
Don't know if this is of any use but best I can do right now.
