I have a George Safeguard marrying a Sibella Trevascus at St Ives in July 1664. From the entry in Phillimore ("Sibella Trevascus, w." I believe Sibella was actually a widow at the time. Does anyone know of an earlier marriage of a Sibella to a Trevascus, probably in the St Ives area? I checked in Phillimore but there was nothing of the kind listed at St Ives for the period 1653-64.

Seems you know about as much as I about George and Sibella. I cannot find a burial at St Ives for a Trevascus/Trevaskis in the right time frame and have, so far, also not been able to find a marriage for Sibella prior to the one to George Safeguard. Have found only three children for George and Sibella so far:- James (1665-1712) St Ives George (1667-1668) St Ives John (1676- ) St Ives James appears to have had at least six children baptised at St Ives and also at Lelant. The fifth (known) child was Christian and it now appears she had an illegitimate daughter, JANE, baptised a few months before her marriage to Philip Bennatts at Lelant. I now believe it was this daughter who married James CURNOW at Towednack in 1756. John (1676) 'may be' the man who married Sarah JACKA at St Levan in 1701. That is about the best I can do for now.
