Does anyone out there have any information that might help me solve a Curnow problem?
Some years ago I received some information about two Curnows (brother and sister, apparently) who both married Trewhellas in the US.
Matthew CURNOW m. Ann TREWHELLA April 12th, 1863 Cheshire, CT Elizabeth CURNOW m. Joseph TREWHELLA July 21st, 1867 Meriden, CT
The two Curnows are, apparently, siblings and, I believe, children of Matthew and Philippa Curnow.
My current research shows the probability that the two Trewhella spouses were also siblings and probably children of Matthew Trewhella and Juliana (nee Lanyon).
I have, as yet, no positive proof of the relationships but suspect I may be correct.
Matthew Curnow and Ann had, to my knowledge, three children:- William bn. c. 1865 Newfoundland Annie bn. c. 1872 Newfoundland Eugenie bn. c. 1876 Nevada
That is about the best I can do for the moment so would appreciate some help.
Except - Joseph Trewella (sic.) appears in the 1880 Census in, I think, Cumru TWP, PA and is listed as 'married'. I think I have found his wife, Elizabeth, living as 'head of household', married, in another State. (Suggest a look at one of the other 'threads' on this site to find further details.) [Ed: See Joseph Trewhella thread on the Trewhella board]
Would appreciate further help on this if anyone can do so.

[Ed: See Joseph Trewhella thread on the Trewhella board] And on the Trewhella Board: Well - I have just spent some time working through the 1880 US Census via Ancestry.com. (Unfortunately I am no subscribed so could not look at copies of original items.) However I may have found the previously elusive Elizabeth. Randolph, Morris, New Jersey Elizabeth TREWELLA Head of House Age 32 Born SCO!! (Scotland?) Father born Eng. Mother born Eng. Occ - Keeping House MARRIED The 1851 English Census shows Elizabeth Curnow, age 3, living in Ludgvan with her mother Philippa and several siblings. Her birthplace is given as Ireland, but the next younger sibling is shown as being born in Scotland, so yes, I think you have found the right Elizabeth!
