Sharing this as I know there are a few other Lanyon researchers out there.
I found a paragraph of information which finally confirms how Francis, Alexander and David Lanyon (sons of John Lanyon) of Madron fit into the Lanyon tree.
Property Transaction - Hendersons MSS 30534 pt 7 (on microfilm at LDS library)
“1632 - Lanyon and Ressicke Tenant Walter Lanyon gent, mort., Elizabeth ux. and son John (80) filius by grant of Richard Lanyon Esq and John Lanyon 11 Eliz. Previous tenant John Angove. Also a corn mill and stamps. John Lanyon gent by grant of Richard Lanyon of Nancothan Esq 5 James holds Lanyon Rysech (except the mills) on lives of Francis Lanyon, 50, Alexander, 48, and David 46 mort. his sons. Rent £6.”
So in 1569 (11 Eliz) Walter Lanyon, his wife Elizabeth (Nanspyan) and son John lease Lanyon and Ressicke from Richard Lanyon Esq and John Lanyon (Richard's eldest son.) In 1608 (5 James) Richard Lanyon Esq of Nancothan (the great grandson of the first Richard Lanyon Esq) confirms the tenancy on the lives of John's sons. In 1632 when Richard Lanyon Esq sells his estate to Jonathan Rashleigh the lease is confirmed again and the ages of the parties are included. John Lanyon son of Walter and Elizabeth was aged 80 in 1632 so born about 1552, Francis was aged 50 so born about 1582, Alexander born about 1584 and David born about 1586.
Hope this helps someone else!

nice! im actually in the direct male line of richard as well as far up as roger de linyeine so far as i can find. though im not in Cornwall anymore because my direct male line were the first lanyons to move to America, they went to this country in 1678 and changed our last name to Lanning, but it’s cool to find out about my family.
