I just realized I ought to have a list of exactly which parishes are part of Penwith Hundred, to facilitate identification for the main forum: Camborne Crowan Gulval Gwinear Gwithian Illogan Isles of Scilly Lelant Ludgvan Madron/Penzance Marazion Morvah Paul Pendeen Perranuthnoe Phillack Redruth St. Buryan St. Day St. Erth St. Hilary St. Ives St. Just St. Leven Sancreed Sennen Towednack Zennor Also included in the above might be any 'new' parishes created from the ones listed - I think "Hayle" is a parish now? Breage, Germoe and Gwennap are technically part of Kerrier Hundred, but your generous admin will let them in...hee hee. Queries, topics etc. for other parts of Cornwall can be posted on the "Kerrier et al" Board.

Hmmm.... According to the Hearth Tax, Germoe is in Penwith, but Breage isn't. I have a color-coded map that I designed, using an old list of Hundreds - tht one shows Germoe in Kerrier. So I am not sure which Hundred it is in...

According to the Protestation Returns Breage is in Kerrier also. Germoe is a Parish that (looking at my 'rough working sketch-map) is attached to St Hilary but takes up a 'lot of space' in Breage (as far as the map goes). I will have other data here somewhere but am too tired just now to remember where it is. If you have access to the Protestation Returns for Germoe it should tell you which Hundred it belonged to back then and I do not think that would have changed. However, let us play 'hedge the bet' - one way or other it is right on the border of Penwith and Kerrier and could possibly be included in both?

Would 'Menheniot' qualify as Penwith?

No, as Roadrunner says, Menheniot is up near Liskeard. But don't let that stop you asking for help! CT
