The alias could 'possibly' refer to a location. For example - it could to refer to a Rawlings of Penhall with Penhall being a farm, hamlet or village. But it could also refer to the name Penhall so you really have to keep your mind open.
Best thing is to work one step at a time and perhaps make sure all the links back to a certain point are correct before trying to move back the next step.

Thx Spike. sorry only just picking this up now. So far further back I am on my Whitburn line is Thomas Bennett born abt 1735 to Eleanor Whitburn born about 1737 (obviously those are guesses for birth at present) but they married 5 February 1758 in Gwennap On my Johns line I am back to Charity Johns but I am stuck on her, she married Samuel Bennett 1821 in Stoke Dameral, Devon, but both her and Samuel were from Cornwall. I have a possibly baptism for her of 1793 in St Pinnock to John Johns and Mary Unknown, but not confirmed this.

Thanks for checking for Johns and Whitburn, Celticmom. I have quite a few Johns lines but no Charity. But I have Eleanor Whitburn. Her grandparents, John Whitburn and Mary Woon were my 8x great grandparents.

Ahh thanks for this, Ive had a break on my tree for a while and just been back trying to crack some branches so will take a look at Eleanor. Currently working on my Eddy line, but I appear to have two lines that married in Eddy’s so it’s becoming rather confusing.
