CT et al
I was wondering if anybody has the Phillis Glasson identified who married Robert Rid in 1813 at Devon. Some have her as the daughter of George Glasson and Sarah Boase of Paul, Cornwall but I do not agree with that.

I tend to agree with you ….. especially as the marriage record states that Phillis Glasson was a WIDOW when she married Robert Rid at Stoke Damerel 5th August 1813.
I searched further and found a burial at Stoke Damerel in 1812 for a Phillis Glasson age 17. I should think it more likely this was the burial of Phillis Boase Glasson who was born at Paul in 1795.

Hi CT
Yes exactly the same conclusion I came to especially when I found that 17 year old's burial.

There are two things that might be helpful in this:- 1. identifying the previous marriage for 'Phillis Glasson widow' 2. finding some trace of Robert and/or Phillis after the 1813 marriage. So far I have been unable to find any trace at all of either of them after that marriage. CT
