Help needed from fellow Harvey researchers.
I have traced my line from Crowan/Gwinear back to Martin Harvey who was of St Hilary when he married Wilmot Clemence in 1772 in Phillack. I think he was the Martin baptized at St Buryan in 1738 to Martin Harvey and wife Alice. By 1782 the family was at Gwinear.
I am currently stuck at Martin of St Buryan. I am not very familiar with families at Paul, Newlyn, etc., but I do have DNA matches with Harveys, Blewetts, etc. in the area.
Can anyone help me identify William Harvey born about 1778 in St Buryan (per 1851 Census) who was a farmer at Ragennis in Paul? He appears to have married twice: first to Elizabeth Usler and secondly to Mary Williams. Son Hannibal Usler Harvey seems to have been jailed few times for poaching birds. I am researching a link to daughter Jane from marriage no. 2. who was born about 1836 in Mousehole and married James Richards in 1870.
Thanks,
Zib

I don't have much time to look at this right now but William 'could be' bp. 11th FEbruary 1776 St Buryan son of William Harvey and Catherine Shetfar who married at St Buryan in 1773.
My thinking here is that one of the witnesses to the second marriage was a Peter Harvey and amongst the children of William and Catherine is son Peter baptized at Paul in 1779.
I should stress that serious investigation would be needed here as my information on the family of William and Catherine was last updated in 2001!!! My database currently shows another son named William in 1790 to this family so it would need to be determined if he should be included or if he may have been the son of another William.

Further to my last - I think there is one other possibility for William Harvey. Also at St Buryan in 1779 there was a William son of John Harvey baptized. I have not checked any further details such as marriages for parents or baptisms/names of siblings.

Right now you have all the information I know about this family but you are creating a lot of confusion and extra work by posting what is basically the same query in multiple sections of the site. PLEASE - work out what you think is the most appropriate area (e.g. Sancreed or St Buryan) and consolidate all your conversation to the one thread. By keeping all your requests, thoughts, and any information you have in one place and having all replies focused on that one thread you will make it much easier for people to follow what is happening. That will also make it easier for people to get involved that may be able to help you. I have many other commitments at the moment both with genealogy and otherwise so I really don't have the time in the immediate future to put in the effort that is required to help you properly. Consolidating your information and the conversation may attract others with interests in the same family. I will certainly help when I can. CT
