I've been working on the Quick family that traces back to Francis Quick & Zenobia married about 1619 probably in Zennor. From this marriage the following lineage is well understood:
• Francis Quick & Elizabeth Paul (m. abt. 1640 – probably Towendack) • Paul Quick & Jane Quick (m.1691 – Towendack) • Paul Quick & Wilmot Curnow (m.1718 – Towendack) • Robert Quick & Ann Michell (m.1757 – Zennor) • James Quick & Elizabeth Quick (m.1790 – Towendack) • James Quick & May Glasson (m.1821 – Paul) • Paul Quick & Jane Sandford (m1863 – Ballarat)
One of the 8 children of Paul & Jane was Frank Montague Quick (b. 1863 Emerald Hill, Victoria, Australia). Frank Quick married Cinderella Jolly (b.1873 Clunes Victoria) in 1898 in Melbourne.
Now here’s the interesting thing. Cinderella’s family lineage traces back to Francis Jolly & Hannah married about 1660 in Newlyn East, Cornwall. The Jolly family and their respective wives families have their footprints across the Hundreds of Kerrier and Pydashire which are the neighboring hundreds along the northern border of Penwith.
For the Jolley / Jolly family relevant parishes include: • Newlyn East • St Enoder • St Allen • Wendron • Stithians
I realise this Forum is dedicated primarily to Penwith and not the northern neighbours so if anyone had an interest in the Jolly /Jolley family and wanted to compare notes etc I’d be happy if contact was made by personal message via this Forum.
Alternatively if there was some interest I could start a Jolly thread on the Kerrier et al Board.
