I have long believed that there were two separate lines of Glasson in Cornwall during the 1500 to 1700's and they eventually gave rise to many families spread far and wide. A DNA comparison with another Glasson in NZ supported that theory. However my conclusion did not allow for the fact that the ancestral line may well have been corrupted by various means such as illegitimacy.
So recently on the St Levan board there has been some discussion regarding Joseph and Blanch Glasson of St Levan and the possibility that Joseph was a brother to John Glasson of Madron who was the husband of Honor Perry and generally accepted to be the oldest identified ancestor of the Madron/Ludgvan/St Ives etc families.
However in the St Levan post CT added the following information:
So there is clearly a gap between this family and any subsequent Glasson families that would immediately connect.
So did the Sancreed sons move away from Sancreed - the possibilities being John, Thomas and Richard?
And if they did, is it possible that they did go to Camborne where the other Glassons are found.
So to stimulate the discussion I would ask the question: given that there was an Eleanor Glasson burial at St Levan in 1694, and given that there was a Richard Glasson born in Camborne in 1639 to father John, is it therefore possible that the John, bap 27/11/1610 at Sancreed, mentioned above by CT went to Camborne and married Elinor Russell and could it be that Richard was their son?
