Bored with my current username I thought I would give myself a new one. Why not translate my Sowsnek name into Cornish? The Australian Womens Weekly Book of Names for Boys (c. 1952) tells me Roger means " champion with a spear". That should be easy enough to translate, but it isn't. So I sought the help of my adult son, who some 37 years ago as a fourteen year old, had taught himself Cornish. His response: www.cornishdictionary.org.uk doesn't have champion as a word, unfortunately, so I've no idea what they want it to be. I think that back in my day (Unified Cornish), it was campyer gans gu. So under Kernewek Kemmyn, it's probably kampyer gans gyw. But I'm not entirely sure of either of these - the words are fine, and gans doesn't cause any mutation, but I don't actually know how to form a noun phrase with a preposition in it, I just guess this is how.So, any suggestions as to a user-name for me? Roger yes, I know of another meaning of roger in English but that might not get past the censor.
