Hi, Nanny,
Photographer William Retallick is known to have done business at Cliff Mine in Keweenaw County, Michigan, around 1868 and in Calumet in Houghton County by 1876-1878. The Calumet area was redistricted a few times, and Red Jacket and Yellow Jacket were in that "neighborhood."
I found an 1870 US Census that has an Ephraim Major and a William Renowden, both miners, living in Rockaway, New Jersey c/o James and Salina Berryman. I don't know why, but my great-great-grandfather also went to New Jersey before eventually settling in Michigan and bringing the family over.
I know nothing more than you do about Elizabeth Clemence. Margery's son William Renowden's wife, Elizabeth J Williams, had a sister, Dora, who married into my Sampson branch. That's why I had them on my tree. My link to the Clemence family is my 5th great-grandmother, Wilmot, who was born in Phillack in 1743.
Good luck!
Zib

Skipper - you may already have this but Christopher Edwards and Patience Sibly were married by Banns at Churston Ferrers, Devon 11th June 1793. This information is from the Bishops Transcripts but unfortunately if there was any further in the original record it was not transcribed for the Bishop.
This record can be found on FamilySearch in the collection 'England, Devon Bishop's Transcripts, 1588-1887'.
The BTs also show the following children baptized to Christopher and Patience:-
William baptized 27th April 1794 at Churston Ferrers Christopher baptized 14th August 1796 at Churston Ferrers Elizabeth baptized 15th April 1798 at Churston Ferrers George baptized 13th February 1814 at Charles, Plymouth (father a mason living at Lower Street)
Also from the BTs is a possible baptism for Christopher - 18th July 1762 at Harberton, Devon son of William and Grace Edwards.
In the FamilySearch collection 'England, Devon, Parish Registers, 1538-1912' you can find the following record with a viewable and downloadable image:-
21st March 1802 Christopher son of Christopher and Patience Edwards baptized at Charles, Plymouth
I suspect there were other children between 1802 and 1814 but they are not showing up on a simple search. May have to search on the surname 'Edwards' but there would be a lot of entries to check.
