Good afternoon, everybody. Lovely and warm here in Port Hedland, Western Australia. 30 degC and not a cloud in the sky. Not bad for winter.
I am looking for any information on the above named person. Grace was the daughter of James Tonkin and Mary Williams Job (m. 20 Jan. 1805, St Agnes). She was christened on 3 Jun. 1805 in St Agnes and the parish register notes her birth as 3 March. I have searched OPC, FreeCen and FamilySearch without success for any definitive evidence of her Marriage and/or burial, but without much success. I found a Grace Tonkin buried in St. Day, which is not too far away, in July 1886 with an age shown as 83, but apart from that I cannot find anything close.
Can anyone help me with some information?
Thanks Mike

The Grace Tonkin in 1886 is most likely the widowed Grace living at Poldice Lane, St Day in the 1881 Census. She was born at Gwennap about 1803 according to this Census. I have not been able to find anything else so far but it might be worth your while trying some variations if you have not already done so.
If you are relying on transcriptions then you should also try looking for any Grace JENKIN/JENKIN who might be a possibility. I have seen many records where the name has been mistranscribed due to the style of handwriting in the original registers.
Also make sure you have tried variations such as TONKEN, TONKYN, TONKYNE ETC.
