I am following Edward Henry Richards who married Mary "Kitty" [maybe Arthur in 1860 Germoe, Penzance, Cornwall. William Harvey who married Jane Oats in 1842 Saint Just, Penwith, Cornwall. William is the son of Samuel Harvey who married Margaret Williams in 1813 St. Just in Penwirth, Cornwall. This Samuel was the son of Samuel Harvey who married Catherine Semmens in 1791 Penzance, Cornwall. The Jane Oats who married William Harvey was the daughter of Thomas Oats and Mary Grenfell who married 1822 St. Just in Penworth, Cornwall. Thomas Oats was the son of William Oats and Jane Wearne who were married in 1781 St. Just in Penwith, Cornwall. Then there is John Harvey who married Mary Nekervis in 1824 St Just in Penwith Cornwall. John Harvey was the son of Samuel Harvey and Catherine Semmens [yep, the same as above - a Harvey granddaughter married a Harvey great grandson]. And finally, Mary Nekervis [Nekerwis] was the daughter of Edward Nekerwis and Mary Richards who were married 1799 in Bodmin, Cornwall.
These folks all lead up to Thomas Oats Harvey who married Lucy Richards Harvey 1866 in St. Just and emigrated to Nevadaville, Gilpin County, Colorado, United States. Their daughter, Mary Jane Harvey married William John Richards son of Edward Henry Richards and Mary "Kitty."
I'd like to know more about the Corwall rellies. I'm willing to share info too! Smiles! Carla

Hello Carla and Welcome to Penwith Genealogy. I do not have connections to these families myself but hopefully there will be other members who will be able to share information with you about their connections. But even though I am not connected I do try to keep up with members interests and help out where possible. And in this case I have to jump in early to! What sources have you used to arrive at the conclusion that William Harvey was the son of Samuel? The information I have to hand indicates that the conclusion is incorrect. The marriage record in the St Just Parish Register clearly shows that the father of William Harvey was also named William. I no that information in these records is not always correct and I have seen many examples in original records where names have been incorrectly entered. However in this case I don't believe that is a problem. Not only does the marriage record say that William's father was William Harvey but the first witness was William Harvey senior! Therefore your comment above regarding Samuel Harvey cannot be correct. I suggest you revisit your sources and check all your information before going much further otherwise you may find yourself a long way down the proverbial garden path. CT
