Hi
I am hoping someone might be able to help me.
I have a record of a lease and release dated 25 October 1679. This was between Willlliam Tregurtha alias Tregurra, Yeo and Margaret his wife, to Wm Gwavas of Huntingham Hall, Sufolk, esq.
Gwavas in Sithney is the estate. Consideration was £120 which appears a sizeable amount in 1679.
My query is whether this could mean Gwavas Farmhouse?
Any thoughts would be appreciated
Regards
Nic

I should think that Gwavas was more than just the one farmhouse and more like an estate with several holdings. But rather than me try to hypothesize it might be best if you tried a Google Search. If you google for 'gwavas sithney cornwall' I think you will find some interesting reading that might help solve your dilemma. CT
