I have found a lawsuit in the family that sounds interesting. As I'm in Cornwall now and planning a visit to the CRO in 2 weeks, I was hoping to find details of the suit there. Unfortunately, their online catalogue doesn't show a record. Does anyone know where those documents are held? Available online, by any chance? (The case is "Goodmans v Rogers", Sept. 1857, contesting the lease to the Star Inn, St. Erth, according to a newspaper clipping I found.) Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Further question -- in searching the British Newspaper Archive, I've found a notice in 1884 of a Goodman v. Rogers case being heard at the High Court of Justice, in the Judge's Chambers. I've looked in Discovery and found unindexed records from the High Court that covers 12 years (CSC 3/81)... would this be the best place to look for the results of that hearing?

You could try emailing the CRO now, asking where you might find what you are specifically after; experience shows the staff/archivists to be very helpful.
cro@cornwall.gov.uk
(I hope it's okay to post that here.....)

Thanks, Sue. I need to email them anyway to request a reservation and some other documents, so I'll include that query as well.
