Many, if not all, people visiting this site will have heard of the Davies-Gilbert family and papers relating to their Estates etc.
Well - Please follow the Zennor and Towednack threads, particularly relating to the Phillips family, and there will soon be some interesting data posted.
Anyone who has anything to add to these or any other topics - please enter discussions.

I have a particular interest in Thomasine Dennis, a cousin of mine, who was mentored by Davies Gilbert. Only last week I was at the CRO looking through correspondence between the two of them. Curious now as to the connection with Zennor, although I believe I saw Tredrea mentioned in one of the Phillips wills from Zennor? Mike

Mike - I want to pursue this soon in the appropriate part of the Board but here are the basics as I know them. Matthew Phillips bp. St Keverne in 1660 s/o Henry and Frances Phillips. It will be the Will of this Matthew to which you refer (I think). He was 'of TREDREA, Gent.' and was buried at St Erth in 1727. Matthew married Elizabeth RALF at St Hilary in 1693 and had five children that I am aware of. (He married Elizabeth BOSANKO at St Erth in 1715). Matthew's daughter Elizabeth (bp, 1695) m. John DAVIES s/o William DAVIES and Catherine (nee NOY) and their daughter Catherine married Edward GIDDY at St Erth in 1765. Henry PHILLIPS (above) was, I believe, the grandson of the Matthew PHILLIPS whose Wills was proved at Zennor in 1628. Will pursue this further.
