I don't know if Rowena is away at the moment but I have sent her an email to let her know you would like to discuss the Pascoes with her.

Hi There,
I have been away with a sick mum, and am off again tomorrow for a while to look after her. Heading off to do some forward cooking in a moment.
jpaske - can you please provide more information. Can you give us a line of your Pascoe family, or perhaps attach a word doc to look at? I don't immediately recognise the Matilda Pascoe mentioned below.
Pascoe was a pretty common name in Cornwall, and a multitude of descendants are living around the world. My Pascoe line possibly came from Breage c.1500's (theoretically), to Sithney in the 1600's, and then to Helston in the 1760's. Many William Pascoes', then a Richard Pascoe born 1763 who was married twice to Hannah Rutter and Elizabeth Vine in Helston and had 2 large families, and then his son John Knill or Knell Pascoe left Helston with his young family in 1851 bound for Adelaide and Burra Burra in South Australia, then c. 1858 Avoca and Maryborough in Victoria.
The parents of Richard Pascoe born 1763 were William Pascoe and Ann James. This is to some extent theoretical, as within a 6 month period there were 2 marriages in Sithney between William Pascoe's and Ann's - one was an Ann James and the other Ann Waters. Both couples proceeded to have children with the same names born within 6 months of each other. My theory of who married who, is simply based on mapping the timing of marriage and baptism dates - and that's not infallible. There also don't appear to be any Wills which help clarify the families.
Kindest wishes, Rowena

Hi There jpaske,
Replying also on the public board, as this info may clarify further for anyone reading your post. Which parishes are you talking about? Can you tell me where you sourced your info from, for example, the Familysearch website or the OPC?
* I'm looking at the OPC site now, and I see a James Pascoe bapt. 1762 at Redruth, to parents James and Alice Pascoe. * The only James Pascoe baptism I can see on the OPC for 1764, is James Pardew Pascoe, at Perranarworthal Parish, to Walter & Temperance Pascoe.
I do have a James Pascoe whose parents were Richard Pascoe and Hannah Rutter, and he and his twin brother William were baptised on 1 Jan 1787, at Helston. There is no clear proof, but he may be the James Pascoe with wife Alice (nee Williams) in the 1851 Census at Redruth. His age is right, but he gives his birth place as Wendron. It is likely that James (son of Richard and Hannah Pascoe) lived to adulthood, as his father Richard re-used the name of any baby or child that died, with the next baby born of that sex. Consequently a number of his children from both marriages carry the same first names.
If this James Pascoe was the twin of William, and son of Richard Pascoe, of Helston, he must have had a falling out with his family, as he was not named in his twin brother's Will as an executor, or recipient (as a younger brother was). So if we're talking about the same fellow, there is no conclusive proof, as yet.
To try and give ou a run down of my tree:
* Richard Pascoe born 1763 Sithney - died 1848 Helston, & married Hannah Rutter 1755-1811. * Twins James and William Pascoe born 1786 and baptised 1787 Helston. * James Pascoe born 1786 Helston - died 1857 Redruth, married Alice Williams 1811, in Gwennap, his occupation was a miner. They had 3 sons James, William and Martin. * Son James Williams Pascoe, born 1819 St. Austell - died 1917 Terang, Victoria, and he married Elizabeth Thomas in 1843, in Redruth district. They had 3 sons William, John and Martin. * Son John Henry Pascoe, born 1850 Illogan, Redruth - died 1923, Essendon, Victoria, & he married Louisa Pascoe, a cousin. * Their son was John Henry Pascoe, born 1874 Kingston, Victoria - died 1965 Parkville, Melbourne, and he married Emma Shuey, and they had a son Raymond born c.1915.
Cheers, Rowena
