Hi there, What an incredible site you have here - I've just lost a whole day reading threads and filling in holes on the Quick side of my family tree!!! I'm descended from Benedict Quick b.1773 through his son Thomas b. 1797 and then his son Thomas b.1821 who married Susan Boase. I've found lots of missing information on here which has been so helpful. I was wondering if anyone might be able to answer a couple of quick (no pun intended) questions. I find Thomas b. 1797 in the census records living with his wife Elizabeth (nee Bennetts m. 3/08/1817) firstly on Chyanchy in St Ives and then on the Wharf near The Sloop Inn. Firstly I'm intrigued to where Chyanchy is - as far as can make out it isn't far from The Sloop Inn but the road doesn't exist with that name now? Secondly I found the image attached of the wharf and wondered if the Quicks Sail Loft in the photo is the house/shop lived in by Thomas in the 1861 and 1871 census?! The image is from 1910 by which stage by branch of the family are in London but I'm intrigued if this is the property referenced for Thomas and Elizabeth. Many thanks in advance for any information Attachments:

Many thanks in advance for any information I believe Chyanchy was the street between Porthmew and Porthgwidden beaches on either side of the peninsula. I am sure one of the people at the St Ives archives could give you a lot more information. They have maps of St Ives dating back to 1841. They may be able to help with the photo if no one here has further information. www.stivesarchive.co.ukwww.stivesarchive.co.uk/contact-form/Simon
