Well as a 1st step, FREECEN has what is probably the family in 1861, since the address is Smithick Hill Falmouth same as on Robert's birth certificate, YANDELL John Head M M 39 Dock Lab Devon - Whimple YANDELL Eliza Wife M F 32 Dock Labs Wife Cornwall - Helston YANDELL John Son U M 7 Scholar Cornwall - Truro YANDELL Caroline Dau U F 5 Scholar Devon - Paignton And if it is their Kate that married at Lelant 1875, it may well be their James John Y age 23, father rail labourer, who married at Lelant 8 January 1876 to Matilda Hammitt/Hammill who can be found with her daughter & mother at Lelant 1881..... Sue Hello there I have done family history on the Yendall family and i go all the way back to the 1820 when Edward adn Mary Healey came to South Africa with the 1820 Settlers who arrived from England in Howards Party.

Also Robert John Yendall married Mary Ellen Cox. Robert was born in Falnmouth Cornwell and arrived in South Africa at the age of 14.

Hi Lucille,
I have all the baptisms records of Robert Yendall and siblings. Also have his father John and mother's marriage. I'm currently looking for John Yendall's parents Robert & Sarah's birth records. John had siblings, which I am trying to source now. Robert's son and brother went to Australia - have police and military records.
If you have any information on John Yendall's parents it would be most appreciated.

Hello everyone! Newbie here...
I've read this thread with interest as I have Yendalls (Yendles,Gendles and even a Jendle) in my tree, all based in and around Helston. All are Cornish born back to the 1790s and probably beyond. It's a branch of my tree that I am very interested in, although the story is a bit complicated! I would be very interested in communicating with anyone with knowledge of my Helston area family.
Thanks!
