My daughter acted in the film Hwerow Hweg which was the first full length Cornish language film and the House of Commons hosted it's world premiere.
Bitter Sweet was the English version. Nothing came of the film though and it was panned in certain quarters.

Genie - please tell us more about this and let us know where we might obtain a copy. Seems to me that it is something that should not go unnoticed or unrewarded. Specially given it is the first full length Cornish Language Film. Maybe another CORNISH UPRISING about to happen here. (Sorry about the latest 'smiley' but it seems we do not have one available to cater for the Cornish Terrier - 'SNARL' ;D) Cornish Terrier

Thanks Genie - which of the links will let me see the production to which you referred. (or at least find out a little more about it).

The first link is to the director Antal Kovacs.
Those who live locally will recognise Godrevey lighhouse in the background of the second one and the third link the characters are sitting in the cafe on St.Ives beach.

Thanks Genie - I reckon even I could recognise Godrevy Lighthouse. (But then I cheated - I have been there.) ;D Will take a good look at the links as soon as I have time. Right now have to think about 'tucker, bed and work'. But will watch the latest Poirot film I have acquired whilst I eat.

It probably only got panned because it was Cornish!!! I don't want to stir trouble here but I do notice that the Cornish get a bit of a raw deal sometimes, a mixture of being quaint and treated with contempt!
