Thanks CT. There is nothing to indicate any problems when sending messages that I can see. I knew something was wrong when you did not reply. Roy ... from Down Under.

Hi, are you all having the same problems C.T. & Tonkin are having with regards to the Fonts & replying to PM's & posts? We are trying to work out if it is just the southern hemisphere that is having these problems or every member in any location?
So we need members from both sides of the hemisphere to let us know if they are having any problems with sending or replying to PM's and problems with fonts when making or replying to posts?replying. I am not here n the UK.

After having a little play I noticed 'sent messages' don't appear in my 'outbox'. This indicates to me the messages are not being forwarded. Try sending me a 'test message' MASFHF. Cheers. Roy ... from Down Under.

My mailbox here was showing if a message was there, but I found I had to re-check a box in the notifications portion of my profile settings to start getting a notification via email instead of just on the forum. Sounds like you are having a different issue, though.
I also saw a small icon at the bottom of the message page in my profile that said "desktop". Once I clicked it, all the formatting options including emoticons popped up. This was on an Android device. Not sure if I would have seen the same thing on my desktop computer.

Well now! - Here is an interesting thing. For some unknown reason a thought suddenly popped into my head. I have three Internet options available on my system but have been using Firefox for the last couple of years to log in to Penwith Genealogy. It just occurred to me to try a little experiment ................... The CULPRIT is FIREFOX!!!I just logged in to PG using Internet Explorer and also Google Chrome and in both cases the Text Edit Toolbar is present and all appears to be as it was before this problem started on Firefox. I am posting this using Google Chrome and as you can see I am now able to alter text size and use other functions. The only difference is that I have an Adblocker on Firefox but then that is also present in Google Chrome. I do not have the adblocker on Internet Explorer. Further investigation might still be required but at least I seem to have found the main offender. CT

Just to highlight my point I am now posting this message via Google Chrome. Now why should FIREFOX be a problem

I wonder why it appears Firefox is your problem, 'cos I use Firefox, and I have sent and received a PM from CT in last 24 hoursand I think quotes work too... I am in the UK, MSFS...... and I do wonder if the thought about the problem being in The Southern Hemisphere could be right... - oops sorry, I'm a rubbish typist, M&SFHFSue

It is certainly Firefox in my case but I cannot figure out why. A couple of years back Londoner had a problem with the forum and at that time she was using Internet Explorer. Changing to Firefox solved the problem that time.
IE appears to be working for me now and Google Chrome is working but with another small issue. When I hit the button to send a message I am getting an error saying 'no data sent from server' yet the message is still going through ok. But all fonts etc. are still working with Chrome.

Well see if PB support come up with anything and know you know what will temp let you use all functions for now, stick with what works. The answer will turn up in good time. You can now concentrate of the forum day to day running .
Now if you want to start to change things on here and make a new theme, let me know and i can help.

Great, thank you. I would appreciate it if you could keep an eye out here for little problems that members might encounter. Your experience is and will be invaluable. Changes and new themes are still something to be thought about and investigated but I don't want to rush into anything just yet. A settling period to get used to the up-front changes and time to think about and study possibilities is the way I would like to approach this. I guess the first thing I need to do is to try and learn all about the available Admin functions that will allow me to do some playing and testing off-line. I am guessing that I will probably need help with that. For now it is down to a bit of work on some queries. Essendon won the football tonight so I am a little happier than I have been! CT
