I have Nathaniel Thomas Paynter bap 20.11.1806 St Ives as the son of James Paynter and Prudence.
James Henry Paynter marriner married Prudence Thomas 29 May 1796 St Ives.
In the 1851/61 census I have the following children for Nathaniel and Jane: Betsey C Paynter 18 in 51 Nathaniel 9 in 51 Prudence 7 in 51 Mary 4 in 51 Jane Q 1 month in 51 Wilmott J 8 in 61 Garce 1 in 61
I do not have a marriage for Nathaniel and Jane and am trying to understand the connections with the Betsey C (assumption Cogar) and the Jane Quick bit.
Any suggestions welcome

Hi Sally Nathaniel Thomas Paynter married Betsey Cogar St Ives 23 May 1830 per FS. Betsy is at home Fore Street with children Betsy & Nathaniel 1841 (they've probably had a previous Nathaniel, buried 3 weeks old 1834 per OPC); being a mariner, Nathaniel is away, perhaps on the High Seas. I think you'll find on OPC that Betsy was buried 17 May 1849. Nathaniel Thomas re-married, per FreeBMD, March Q 1850 to Jane Quick. In fact the West Briton transcripts 1 March 1850 has the marriage as the previous Tuesday at Madron Wesley Rock Chapel; her father shipwright Israel. freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~wbritonad/ So there you have it, I think! There were four children from this marriage:- Bestsy Cogar bp. 29th June 1832 St Ives Nathaniel born c.1841 St Ives Prudence Ann born 1843 St Ives Mary born 1846 St Ives
Betsy, as Sue has said, was buried at St Ives 17th May 1849 age 39 (bp. 12th August 1810 St Ives d/o William Cogar and Ann Williams)
Nathaniel Thomas Paynter then married Jane Quick at the Wesley Rock Chapel, Madron 26th February 1850 and had a further three children:_
Jane Quick born 1851 St Ives Wilmot Thomas born 1853 St Ives Grace born 1859 St Ives
(I have not updated the database for a long time so don't currently have all of the baptismal information included.)
Jane Quick was the daughter of Israel Quick and Jane Allen bp. 31st December 1819 St Ives.
