Hi, all, Having trouble finding the parents of another Jane Trewhella, born abt 1790, perhaps in Ludgvan, who married James Rogers about 1820 in St. Erth. Anybody happen to have this info?

I do not yet have a baptism for her but I can certainly identify her for you. Jane/Jenifer was born at Ludgvan about 1789 daughter of Thomas Trewhella and Mary Edwards who married at St Hilary 27th December 1776. Jenifer wife of James Rogers, along with her sisters, was granted Administration of the estate of her mother Mary Trewhella in 1834. I have not yet identified this James Rogers but I suspect he may have been baptised at St Mewan in 1787. I would be interested in any information you have for him. CT

Thank you! My best guess so far for James Rogers, assuming he was born in St. Erth (St. Erth bachelor at time of marriage to Jane Trewhella), is that he was born to Abraham and Blanch (Blight) Rogers in St. Erth, baptism Jul 29 1787. But it's hard to tell -- there are many James Rogers to choose from!

Simply because he was resident at St Erth at the time of marriage by no means guarantees James Rogers was born in that Parish. In fact Jane Trewhella was also resident at St Erth but she was born at Ludgvan.
I currently know of only three children - Jane (1822), James (1824-1897) and Mary Susan (c.1829) - and I also know that James died in 1851 at the age of 63. From that information my own current best guess is that he may have been baptised at St Mewan in 1787 to James and Susannah Rogers.

Believe it or not - I have the answer! James son of James and Susannah Rogers of St Earth was baptised at St Mewan 19th August 1787. James Rogers, farmer of St Ewe, married Susanna Job at St Ewe 16th September 1786 A daughter, Susanna, was baptised at St Mewan 22nd March 1789 with St Earth also recorded as the residence. James was widowed and his wife Susannah buried at St Mewan 15th July 1792. James then married Philippa Truscott at St Stephen in Brannel 8th January 1793. A number of children from the second marriage were baptised at St Mewan and by 1808 the family was living at St Erth where a further five children were baptised. In 1841 James Rogers anf wife Philippa were at Tremelling in St Erth with son James and his wife Jane living next door but also at Tremelling. CT
