These are now searchable at Ancestry (e.g.800+ entries for those born in St Ives) and give dates of birth which might be useful for those with subs.

Thanks Lesley - most useful and interesting indeed. BUT The usual Ancestry Antics are in evidence once again! When you click on the Image Icon for a person it displays the image for the Certificate and in most cases there will be more images to follow. These vary with some being letters from the Certificate holder/applicant, some being references etc. I have been looking at the Quicks with most being of St Ives so this is good stuff to add to the previous research. But here is the catch. A group of images seems to be linked to the person named in the index but:- 1. Some of the images following do not actually belong to that person 2. Some of the images belonging to that person are to be found by going BACKWARDS! And then some of those are for the person named but appear to reference different Certificates which are not in the index. Bottom line - when you click on a name to view an image make sure you check the following AND the preceding images to make sure you get all the information! To put it in more simple terms - The Image to which the Indexed Entry refers is not necessarily (in most cases is NOT) the first image in the set. In at least one case I found that the first image in the set for one person was about 8 images BEFORE that of the Indexed image. But there were also related images following. For example:- Image 1, Image 2, Image 3, Image 4 - INDEXED ENTRY - Image 6, Image 7 You will probably get another couple of images that relate to the next Indexed Entry. CT
