I've just finished reading "A Tug on the Thread- From the Brithish Raj to the British Stage"" by Diana Quick, about her search for ancestors in Cornwall and India. For those who remember the 1981 "Brideshead Revisted" TV series, Diana Quick played "Julia Flyte" A comment she made on starting the search, which I'm sure we've all experienced, was "Trawling through the records in Cornwall and Devon was frustrating : there were plenty of Quicks , especially around St. Ives, -----" The book is a good read, particularly if you've an interested in India and the days of the Raj.

Not the type of TV you would catch me watching but I have seen Diana Quick in a couple of things. With all that trouble she's had with her ancestors perhaps you should drop her a note and point her in this direction! After all, we have had a little success with the Quicks! CT
