Hi all, Just wanted to say how chuffed I am to find this section of the site, I have just identified Paul Quick (b 1692 at Towednack) and Wilmot Curnow as my 6 times Great Grandparents and now I find this treasure trove of info! ;D It's going to take me a while to look through all 9 pages but I'm sure I will be back with questions shortly! By the way, I see lots of mentions of Wills that prove info. Please can someone advise me of the best method of obtaining these please? Right....time to get reading! Cathy

Hello to you too distant cousin!! Thanks for the links, I have already started digging! Cathy Hello there, I am also related through Paul & Wilmot Quick. I come down to James Quick who married Elizabeth Major and emigrated to Ballarat Victoria. Their son William Quick born 1845 was my great great grandfather. About twenty five years ago I wrote a book "Cornishmen to Australians" which detailed the family as I knew it at the time. Subsequent research has led to only one minor correction so the info is still current. Am enjoying reading the posts.

Hello Tania and Welcome to the site. I am sure you will have lots of interesting reading and hopefully you will enjoy the banter between Lannanta and myself as we worked to try and got those Quicks into order. CT

Hello Tania, I have a series of very old photographs of unidentified Quicks, some of which may have been taken in Ballarat, also two photos taken in Ballarat, one of Frederick John Saville Trethowan as a very young child and one of an unknown young lady. If you are interested in seeing them send an email - see my address on profile page. Perhaps you may be able to help identify some of these fine looking folks. Happy New Year to you, and to all others on this marvellous site! Isambard
