Hi,
I've just said Hello as a new member & explained I'm Very new to the exciting hunt for ancestors! The first clue I have to the origins of my family is a Grace Goldsworthy who I believe was born in 1830 in Sithney, Cornwall. I know she was married in Australia, so possibly left with family to the Gold rush?
If this is far too hard a question, I'll understand. Kindest regards Anne

Hi Anne
I am sure that the experts here will be able to assist you, however I did note that there was an 11 year old Grace Goldsworthy living in Sithney in the 1841 census. She is the daughter of John and Ann. Do you know who your Grace's parents were and about what time they went to Oz?

Anne - again very quickly. Have noted the recent reply from Allen regarding the 1841 Census. Can you tell me which State Grace married in, please. I have the indexes for BDM for Victoria and quite a bit for South Australia. If she was in Victoria than I am positive I will be of some assistance to you. If it is NSW then I may have a problem at the moment but am sure I can find some help there. Let us hope Victoria is the place and we are off and running. Ian

Ann, This info. is probably completely useless! Blanche Dunstan Martin b1853 west Cornwall, married a Goldsworthy. Two (or 3?) children: William, and Nannie E D Goldsworthy, living 1901 Gwennap (Census), Cornwall. The father is not in evidence! There are lots of Goldsworthy families in Australia. Blanche had 3 siblings.
David.

If the family was in Victoria then please let me know and I will track them down for you. (Through the BDM of course.)
