For those with an interest in the family names mentioned here I have done a little work to provide some further information. The marriage possibly occurred inthe Registry Office or, more likely, one of the Chapels but it did occur in 1883. It is difficult to tell how many children were born before Annie (21 in 1911) but I have managed to find just one. Jane Noall Penberthy was born at the Rio Tinto Mines, Huelva Provice, Spain in 1888 and died at Ebbw Vale, Monmouthshire soon after the 1901 Census. Jane and sister Annie were baptised at the Chyangwheal Methodist Chapel and this informatiion can be found on the OPC website. Jane Noall Grenfell was born at St Ives in 1861 but I have not yet been able to find her baptism. She was the fourth of eight children born to John Grenfell and Mary Veal who were married at St Ives 2nd November 1851. NOTE:- this marriage produces another example of misleading information. Mary's father is recorded as William yet she was, in fact, the daughter of John Veal and Mary Pender who married at Sennen 12th August 1828. Mary's father, John Grenfell, was baptised at St Ives 1st February 1828 son of John Grenfell and Eleanor McDonald. He was a mariner in the Merchant Service. William Penberthy appears to have been the son of Richard Uren Penberthy and Amy Thomas who married at Lelant 21st January 1861. FreeBMD shows that William's birth was registered in the March Qtr of 1861 yet his age was recorded as 6 months at the 1861 Census which was taken on April 6th. CT

Thanks for this information. I am William Penberthy's great granddaughter through William Thomas Penberthy. He was the father of my father David. I was looking up Jane Noall Grenfell on the Internet when I found this post. William was born at Vorvas Vean, Lelant which my father David remember visiting as a child. I just remember William Thomas and Edward but remember Hilda, Richard (who lived in Camborne after he married) and Irene very well who had moved back with Annie and their parents to Cornwall from Ebbw Vale, first to Long Rock then to Carbis Bay. This Annie was named after the first Annie who had died. My grandfather William Thomas remained in South Wales as did Eddie who in later life emigrated to Australia. Thanks again
