9 July 1808 at Sancreed Thomas Tresise m Mary Wallis, witnesses Willm Wallis and John Tresise.
from this I feel it fair to deduce that Mary is the daughter of William & Catherine bapt at St Buryan 1788
I cannot find any children baptised to them or find them in any census or burials, although they quite likely died before 1841.
However in Penzance in 1851 is an interesting household: Catherine Trezise (unm) 30 lodging house keeper b Penzance William Trezise (unm) 20 lodger b Penzance John Quick (wid) 30 b St Ives James Pascoe 49
On 30 April 1846 a Grace Trezise (father Thomas, a carrier) married John Osborne Polmear Quick There is a death in 1849 for a Grace Quick which is likely to be her.
Can anyone find the origins of Catherine and William Trezise or what happened to Thomas & Mary?

in addition: could this be the family?
1841 Madron: Mary Trenze * 50 charwoman Grace Trenze 20 Mary Trenze 20 Richard Trenze 15 blacksmith's apprentice Willim Trenze 11 ironmonger's boy John Quick 20 blacksmith
COPC has the family transcribed as George but the G of grace is unlike the first letter of Trenze ( A's transcription) but also unlike the T of thomas on the adjacent page.

Londoner - I can give a little on this with one item only just now found.
Grace Tresize daughter of Thomas (labourer) and Mary of Penzance was baptised 24th October 1817 at Penzance Grace was buried at Penzance Cemetery in Plot BH2 31st July 1849 age 31
She had one child:- Grace bp. 5th April 1848 Penzance St Mary (FamilySearch) Grace bu. Penzance Cemetery Plot BK2 23rd April 1848 age 15 weeks
It appears very likely that the parents of Grace (senior) were Thomas Tresize and Mary Wallis.

Londoner - I was about to inform you of that 1841 entry! Ancestry has them as TRENZE also but they also have John Quick as John FENICK. This is most certainly the family of Mary Tresize and it is possible that this is Thomas:- Thomas Trezize of Penzance age 69 buried 30th June 1839 Penzance The Transcription indicates there was an unreadable note with this entry. If it is the right Thomas then his age implies a possible second marriage. But there were several other Tresize burials at Penzance so perhaps the husband of Mary Wallis was buried back at Sancreed. BTW - I have submitted corrections to Ancestry regarding the 1841 Census. Just another in the long, long list I have submitted in the last couple of months! CT

I don't very often use the full name these days - too damned frustrating! With Ancestry I just use Tre* or Tres* or Trez* as a starting point. If you check the Davies thread under Surnames you will note that I eventually found the missing Richard Davies ................. as R D! To find him I had to search for everyone born between 1852 and 1854 at Illogan!
