This is a transcript from a journal written by Thomas Ninnes himself in the later years of his life. The original is in the State Library of South Australia.
Record of our Family as far I as can remember
Grandfather Thomas Ninnes was of a original Towednack Parish family There was Amelwidden, Penderleath, Gengueal, and a part of Trenninear farms the family claimed as Leasehold Property
Grandfather Ninnes had two brothers, George and William. Grandfather married Ann Carnarthen George married Ann something from St Just Parish
My mother often said Ann from St Just was an extravagant woman and as they brothers farmed the land together she greatly reduced them William was never married George had a small family
Grandfathers one daughter married W.Stephens who had a small farm in the village of Treveal, Parish of Zennor William married Mary something from the Parish of Ludgvan (In the column is written 3 sons and Aunt Amy died 28 Dec buried 1st Jany 1857)
Father George Ninnes married Mary Pearce from Parish of Lelant, Joseph married Hannah Curnow from Parish of St Ives.
Aunt Ann family William, Ann & Elizabeth all married
Uncle William family Thomas (died young), Mary, Jane, Jone, the 3 girls married
Fathers family Mary, George, Dorcas, Thomas, William, John & James who died at 10 years old John is not married
Uncle Josephs family Joseph, Hannah, Mary, William, Jane, Honor & Thomas Hannah died soon after marriage Joseph died some years after marriage no children Mary is not married She is ded William married and went to Wales Jane married had a family Honnor married died soon after Thomas married a daughter of Mr Andrew Thomas of Chypaus he went to Wales
My mothers father John Pearce married Ann Bennets there was 4 children Amy, John, Richard & Mary Amy married Wm Penberthy had 2 sons John & James and 2 daughters Amy died young and Elizabeth died after marrying some years John Pearce her brother not married Richard Pearce died at Redruth leaving no children
Mary married with father George Ninnes On my mothers side there was a fair amount of Landed Property

Richard wife Ann shopkeeper Zennor
Elizabeth husband Peter Millett miner one daughter
Grace Husband Henry Brush farmer Gulval
James wife Miss Farming Gulval children

John not married
Maria the youngest I married 1 son 7 daughters
