Just to make matters worse - Joseph Ninnes remarried in 1863 yet there is no record in the Death Index for SA of the death of Mary! (Information is included in a couple of those Family Trees on Ancestry)
Joseph married three times.
First wife Mary is buried in St Mark's Penwortham cemetery with her son William George. Died 13 Jun 1863, I found a SA Death reg, Minnes, Mary 1863 6 13 Penwortham book 16 page 345 and I have seen the headstone. Joseph is buried with his second wife Hannah Clark nee Hill. He then married Annie Lane who probably murdered him fro 15000 pounds. The verdict was murky as chief witnesses were proved to have purjured themselves so it was inconclusive as to wether Annie deliberately tipped the lamp over which burnt him to death.

ElizaBarnes, Sue and CT, I've been keeping a separate file of the "other" Ninnes's and decided to look at the comments made recently about this family. I'm not sure where I got this information and it may not be corre t but this is what I have about the unfortunate Joseph Ninnes and Charlotte Schollar;
Joseph Ninnes was born 23 September 1820 in Cornwall, England and died 4 February 1903 in Penwortham, South Australia, Australia. He married Mary Roach December 1847 in Penzance, Cornwall, England. She was born 1822 in Cornwall, England and died 13 June 1863 in Skillogalee Creek, South Australia, Australia. He married Hannah Clark daughter of William Hill 3 October 1863 in Res J. Ninnes, Penwortham, South Australia, Australia. She died 26 November 1884 in Penwortham, South Australia, Australia. He married Annie Lane daughter of William Lane 10 October 1888 in Wesleyan Parsonage, Auburn, South Australia, Australia. She was born 13 March 1865 near Kingston, Kangaroo Island, South Australia, Australia and died 6 August 1938 in Fullarton, South Australia, Australia.
Charlotte Schollar was born 8 April 1777 in Sithney, Cornwall, England and died 27 January 1855 in Carnequidden, Gulval, Cornwall, England. She married John Ninnes son of George Ninnes and Ann Jelbert 25 October 1806 in Breage, Helston, Cornwall, England. He was born 1773 in Towednack, Cornwall, England.
Children of John Ninnes and Charlotte Schollar:
i Charlotte Ninnes B:29 March 1807 Nancledra, Cornwall, England M: Thomas Ninnes, 31 December 1853, Manse Albert St., Collingwood, Victoria, Australia D: 9 September 1870 Guildford Farm, Clare, South Australia, Australia
Any comments and corrections most welcome.

So let me see....
Joseph Ninnes married 3rd wife Annie Lane when he was 68 and she was 25......
He fathered Bertie when aged 69; Mabel when aged 74...
He was 82 in 1903 when he died from the "accident", having spent 15 years living with a woman 43 years his junior..........
Not all unfortunate then!
;D

Hi Ray,
I have Charlotte Bolitho in my attachment, I am convinced it is wrong and it is Schollar as you have. Thomas Ninnes wrote in his journal Charlotte mother was Bolitho. I will correct it in my tree.

Eliz Charlotte's baptism, that of her siblings & her parents' marriage are on the OPC website. As I have a GGGGmother Bolitho myself, I had a quick look around for possible Bolitho links to explain the journal error; without success. Sue

I wondered about a re-marriage for Charlotte's mother as a possible explanation but have found nothing so far that would support the notion. CT

Re Charlotte, daughter of John Ninnes & Charlotte Schollar. Can anyone confirm that at her marriage to Thomas Ninnes in Australia she was a spinster or was she widow? I have a Charlotte married to James Wallis (widower) in Gulval 1834 who I had previously assumed was this Charlotte.
