Hi I am looking for the Marriage of James Paynter Wallis born 1876 St Ives and Phillipa Andrew French maiden name Daniel born 1871 I think James and Phillipa may have married in Crystall Falls, Iron County, Michigan, USA between 1900 & 1901 James Wallis and Phillipa were boarding in Crystal Falls in the 1900 USA Census and both listed as single Philipa is under maiden name of Daniel and James' surname is Wallace in USA Census Phillipa French/Daniels is back in Cornwall in the 1901 Census staying with her mother and is recorded as Phillipa Wallis. I have searched FreeBMD can't find them under Wallis/Wallace and Daniels/French - which makes me think that they perhaps married in the USA? Can anyone help with a lookup in Iron County, Michigan marriages? Sarch

Their daughter Phillipa returned to St Ives in about 1930 and lived to the ripe old age of 100.

I try to check FamilySearch at least every other day just to try and keep up. But I do it mostly for just in case they restore the Cornwall PRs to their rightful place! I figure that if they do put them back online they may, once again, be shortlived so I want to be ready for the event! The other thing to look out for on FamilySearch is 'updates'. They not only Add new records fairly regularly but they also Update existing ones. In some cases you might find items that are Indexed/Transcribed but then if you check again a week or so later you might well find that the Images have been added. You will also notice that there are quite a number of items that are 'Browse Images Only'. This is something else that can change and you will find a change one day that includes Indexing. Must be ever vigilant! CT

Sarch - a couple of additions that you may not have. Edgar Ernest French married Philippa Daniel December Qtr 1890 in the Penzance R.D. The page number is quite high (483) indicating probably Registry Office or a Chapel. Edgar Ernest French was a 'hot watter fitter' according to the 1891 Census when he and Philippa were at East Preston in Sussex. He was born about 1870 at Brighton son of Edgar (Coastguard Service) and Anne (nee Boswell) French. Edgar Ernest French of St Ives age 26 was buried 25th August 1896 Barnoon Cemetery, St Ives CT
