How do you find out if any of your ancestors fought in the First World War of or any of the Wars before that. If you have no one to ask or have no family history of any one being a in any of the forces.

George - there are some records available online that I have looked at but I cannot remember a specific site. However - if you do a Google (or Yahoo etc.) search for CWGC you should find the site for the Commonwealth War Graves Comission which may lead you to other areas to search. I actually just did a search using one of my relatives names - Hugh Kingsley Trewhella - which resulted in the fact he was 21 when killed in action and gave the RAF Squadron Number and stated he was a 'wireless operator/air gunner'. Try that and see how you go. Post another note if you are having no luck and I will try to find some better links for you.
