Hi Isambard - I took a brief look at this problem after you first posted but got nowhere in particular with it. But unless Thomas was married more than once I think you can ignore your most recent marriage offerings. The other 'minor' problem we have here is that we are dealing with Illogan and Redruth for which little is available - particularly after 1837 - at the moment. In addition to that is that we cannot guarantee that Thomas Vincent was baptised at Illogan. I think so far there is only one reference for him which suggests he was born there. Around that time it is quite possible that he may have been baptised at Redruth, Gwennap or one of the Chapels. But working on the limited information currently available he might well be:- Thomas son of John and Ann Vincent bp. 20th March 1820 at Illgaon It does not quite match with his age in the Census but ....... If this is the right Thomas Vincent then he is probably a son from the following marriage:- John Vincent m. Ann Chappell 10th August 1816 at Illogan Best I can do just for now. CT

Yes, I think that will be the family. All children match baptisms at Illogan to John and Ann except for William.
We really need to get a look at the marriage records to be able to get much further on this I think.
