CT
I have not got lost, rather I am sitting at Trebarvah Farm overlooking the Mount and Marazion and across to Penzance in the morning sun, staying with John Boase. I have been for the last few days at Zennor and with very fine weather it was great to be out on the Coastal Path.
Anyway I will be in this area for another week or so and therefore if you need an image of anything where I might be just let me know.
I see that NZJohn is keeping you on your toes so with nothing to add I will leave you all to that discussion.

I'll be looking at the same view tomorrow, Lannanta.
What bliss.
Are you going for a paddle on Marazion beach this morning?

Hello Lamorna
Actually planning to go and have a look at Sancreed, St Levan etc as it is or was a bit far to go from Zennor.
Interesting name Lamorna, reminds me of the song - "and now I'll sing to you, about a maiden fair, I met the other evening in the corner of the square, she had a dark and roving eye...." ;D

I know the Sancreed/St Levan area well so I hope you have a good day.
There are two of us Lamornas in the family and we are both as you described!!

Lamorna
I think that some of the earliest Glasson data came from St Levan and Sancreed before moving into Madron. I thought that it might be interesting to just have a look at the area, parish etc, however I do not expect to see headstones etc given the time elapsed since they were there.
I arrived here a week ago and the weather has been perfect. I have walked along the waterfront every day but one so I am starting to become known to the many dogs being exercised there!! ;D

Don't forget to go into St Buryan as well, its not far away from St Levan.
You've picked the right week for weather, it has been good.

Yes St Buryan as well as I have some Barnicoats in my family and they came from there.
You never know I might bump into you paddling at Marazion tomorrow.

Stranger things have happened.
If I'm there I will have a sign around my neck stating Lamorna
so don't go up to any strange ladies unless they are wearing
a sign, you might get arrested ;D

If you find anything out about John Davey of Boswednack let me know, say "a spiritual hello" to the Daveys of Zennor. Watch out for mermaids.

I wondered where you had disappeared to!! Well while you are down St Levan way you had best drop in and have a pint at The Wink at LAMORNA and also The Logan Rock Inn at Treen, St Levan! Not that I actually know them myself, personally of course! ;D I cannot think of anything immediately but will post a note should anything come to mind that you might be able to help with - thankyou. Hello again Lamorna
I was lucky to get a ride first to Sancreed, then St Buryan and finally St Levan. Finished off with a famous Jelbert ice cream at Coombe in Newlyn.
What I was interested to note was the state of the church at Sancreed. Of the three it was the only one that had the door locked, but the outside clearly showed that the church was not in the same condition as most of the others that I have visited. It had vegetation growing over the back of it and it appeared very damp around the foundations. Also a number of the windows were broken.
Has it been like this for awhile?

Sounds as if you have had a very good day and what a finish.
The most famous ice cream shop for miles around!
Now I will have to ask family about the church in Sancreed. As I don't know! But it does sound as if it hasn't been looked after for a while.
Ruffians and scoundrels abound no doubt! Hope its not any of my lot doing the looting!
Where are you off to in the next few days?

Thought tomorrow morning I would head off along Marazion to Long Rock and then off up to Lelant via Ludgvan where I want to spend a bit of time tidying up a grave of my 2nd great grandparents. I have been walking everywhere so it will take most of the day methinks. Then always a pint in the late afternoon and that depends on where I find myself.
