Dear List
I am looking for the marriage of the parents of Jane and Wilmot Stevens. Jane bapt 27 Feb 1837 Uny Lelant, and Wilmot bapt. 15 Mar 1840 Uny Lelant. Their parents were William and Jane Stevens (IGI extracted record).
Both sisters married Thomas Gluyas Pascoe, Jane in 1863 in St Ives, and Wilmot in Adelaide, Sth Australia. Thomas and Jane emigrated aboard the Suffolk, in 1865.
Since there are a few possible marriages, I wondered if anyone had researched this family, and could help clarify. The 1851 Census shows them in Uny Lelant: William 43, born Zennor, mine agent; wife Jane, 40, born St Erth; and children William 21; jane 14; Wilmot 11; Elizabeth 3; and Andrew 4 months.
Kind regards, Rowena

Hi Rowena - With son William age 21 when the 1851 Census was taken the search should be narrowed. And as Jane was apparently born at St Erth then that would be the first place to look. Hence:- William STEVENS, bachelor of Uny Lelant married Jane PEMBERTHY, spinster of St Erth by Banns 15th May 1830 at St Erth Witnesses:- Henry Penberthy, John Stevens Son William was baptised at St Erth 5th September 1830 Also Thomas son of William and Jane bp. 25th August 1833 at Lelant CT

Thanks CT,
To add a little more, Jane Pemberthy was bapt. 11 Mar 1810 St Erth to parents Henry and Sarah Pemberthy.
Cheers, Rowena

Hi Rowena - remember that PeMberthy is more often found as PeNberthy.
When I was checking the Stevens info I also had a look at William Stevens.
'Available' information suggests he should be the William Steven baptised at Zennor in 1806 to David Stevens.
But I am far from convinced of that even though I have not been able to find another possibility.

I think the available information is probably correct, on checking I can't see another possibility either.
David Stevens married Elizabeth Strathern 14.2.1797 Zennor
Just to go a little farther back David Stevens baptism 8.1.1769 Zennor Father was David.
There are two baptisms for an Elizabeth Strathern 1. 1.5.1753 Zennor Parents Thomas Strathen and Elizabeth
2.6.7.1766 Morvah Father was William Strathen.
Both of these Elizabeths seem to be a little old to be having children in 1806. Perhaps the 1766 Elizabeth might just make it.
It will be interesting to see if anybody else can come up with another lot of parents for William born 1806.
