Not sure this is the right place, but anyway!
Some weeks ago I mentioned there had been a great UK TV series on the effect the railways had on 19th century Great Britain, including a couple of the 30 min programmes in the series being all about Cornwall.
It's already been repeated once, & I've just noticed they're showing it again: tomorrow Sunday evening 8 August 1800 hours UK time.
Tomorrow's episode is Carlisle to Glasgow, No 9 in the series.
Nos 12 to 15 are about the West Country, in particular 14 Bugle to Megavissey & 15 Truro to Penzance. But I'm not clear if they are currently showing them in order, or just selecting a few episodes.
Just saying, they were great 30 min slots of history, so if you can watch them, specially the great shots of Cornwall, personally I'd keep an eye out for them!
(Doesn't look like they're available on iplayer this time round, so need to watch it live or record it yourself, or whatever whizzy TV service you have that let's you watch it after the event!)

I'm hoping that the series will be carried in Canada, perhaps on Vision or TVO. What is the title of the series?
We've enjoyed the Doc Martin series and its Cornish scenery and characters. Contrary to what you might believe, Martin Clunes is not the grump he portrays there. On the contrary he's a genial good humoured guy, one would like to meet, as seen on a series about dogs.

Yes indeed, a man to make you smile & warm your heart! Never stops laughing when he presents "Have I Got News for You". Has the good judgement to live in the West Country too, although Dorset, not Cornwall. Oops yes, the title would have been useful!! Great British Railway Journeys. BBC. Michael Portillo presents it.
