I don't know my Cornwall geography very well, and had thought Callington would be outside Penwith, but looking at a map I'm thinking it might be in after all. Is it included in Penwith? Thanks, Calswimmer

Hello Calswimmer, nice to hear from you again. No, Callington is not in Penwith - in fact it is quite a distance away. It is actually not far from the Devon Border and is North-West of Plymouth and almost due South of Launceston. But if you have interests there I can see no reason why we cannot try to help. So please let me know of your curiosity and possible interests and let's see what can be done

Calswimmer, if you have a Callington query, go ahead and put it on the "Kerrier et al" board and we would be glad to look it over. Interestingly enough, I have an ancestor buried in Callington Church, with a full effigy - been trying to find photos online, but haven't been successful in locating any. Oh, incidentally, Callington is in the Hundred of East Wivel.

There were mines around Callington (Pensilva near St. Ive), and I've found some St. Just in Penwith folks that migrated there, including my Great Grandmother, GRACE OATS WHITE, who went there to work as a Domestic. She met a local man and married in the area.
