CT,
I can supply some information on both John, Rebecca, and a few of the Grills from the Australian end of thing that may be useful, but!
Hope the Phone! Take a Right Turn as I think we have a twist.
You got me thinking and then searching and trawling for something to fit as Mary Bottrell doesn't seem to do it. So maybe this will fit a bit better and it seems to gel.
John Grills parents (first of the Right turns) may have been John Grills b.1750 at Callington (this is almost a certainly) and he married firstly Elizabeth Giles born 1757 Menheniot 1878 Liskeard, possibly dies 1802 Liskeard. Then the 'old bugger' married Mary Anstis 1823 Menheniot. Fits better.
Then John Grills mother and father are possibly (here we do the
second of the right turns or we are just holding the phone for a bit) James Grills born 1724 St.Mellion, dies 1782 1782 or 1802 St.Mellion? married 1749 at Callington (this fits) to a Mary Bowhay birth and death unknown . I can go back a bit more but this might do for the moment.
This all seems to fit better into place especially with date stamping births, deaths and locations, don't you think?
Now that I have put this down (I was going to say paper) in type, it is something to ponder.
If you were wondering where this new tact came from then its for them Volume 2 that was mentioned earlier in one of the replies posted by donne. A big thank you goes to donne for your lead.
I will put all the other details together and send them through to you. Might take a bit of time, as I type really slowly.
Cheers
Ron
