I am sure everyone here is aware of, and uses, the excellent resources provided by the Cornwall Online Parish Clerks Project. And I am also sure that many of you, just like me, have been frustrated at not being able to find information we need. Well here is your chance to help rectify that problem. The OPC project relies on volunteers to help transcribe the many Parish documents we all rely on so why don't YOU find a little spare time and volunteer to help out! I have just started on the transcription of Baptisms for the Parish of Penzance St John and once I have completed that will be lining up to take on more. So for those of you who are willing and able - please let me know and I will put you in touch with the people who will get you started. These people are researchers just like you and I and have contributed many of the transcriptions that you find on the OPC site. So jump in and give a hand and let us all reap the benefits of the best OPC site around! The images are downloaded to your PC and you work from there with the tools provided so you don't even have to leave home. Work at your own pace and take a break whenever you need or want. Come on and join me in this worthwhile project. CT

Most certainly Roy and thanks for responding so quickly. I will send an email to Bill O'Reilly and pass on your email address. Bill will then send you an email requesting confirmation of your interest and will then allocate some work for you along with the instructions. Newlyn has also got involved so if we can get a few more of us it would be great. CT

Hi Mike - good to get you on board. As with Roy I will email Bill and let him know your details. He will then contact you and you can discuss with him what preferences you might have and see if the relevant PRs are available. Hopefully you will hear something by tomorrow. CT

Hi Jenny and thank you also for leaping into the breach! As with the others I will pass your email address on to Bill who will get in touch to confirm your interest. Once that is done things will start to happen. CT

If they're happy to have someone to chip away without a deadline - I can give it a go.

Hi Calswimmer - thankyou also for volunteering.
If you could send me your email address either via email to me or via PM I will pass it on to Bill who will then get in touch with you.

I contacted someone quite a long time ago with a view to getting involved, and didn't recieve a reply.
As you've got a direct contact, please pass my details across........ use the email address i've got on here though, not the one you've been using recently.
I wouldn't be able to do much until the end of the summer, but could get more involved from them onwards.

Okay - Oschar I will need an email address to pass on to Bill so if you don't want it publicly available just drop me a PM or use my email contact to let me know.
Cowdogsam - will pass on your email and you may hopefully hear something back within 24 hours.
Once contacted by Bill you can discuss with him what time you may have available and in some cases you might be better off asking for some shorter PRs to work on.

Thankyou for that - I am a little stalled on Zennor at the moment so that little item will hopefully enable me to sort a few things out.

I would like to help if I could. I don't know if it's much use and being so "far away" it's tricky but both Jen and I have quite a few certs and bits we could contribute if that were all right? I'm not sure if that's much use though....
