Melanie
Sorry to hear of your computer trouble. I had something similar recently, with some of my data ending up in folders with new names.
I was not quite right to say that the baptisms of George’s children were on the IGI. Nine of them are, but Florence and Ibbot are not - I have not seen the original register but I suspect that it has not quite survived intact.
George’s will names 5 daughters (I assume in chronological order) and 2 sons, but not the two Gertrudes, who must have died, or Barnard and Gulyan, who probably had not yet been born.
To find the IGI records, I went to the old IGI, via the new LDS site. Then I entered the Batch Number C022532, for early Egloskerry baptisms, and asked for all children with father George baptised 1580 +/- 20 years. This avoids problems with the spelling of Grenville.
My list now looks as follows:
c1579 Florence 1580 Mary c1582 Ibbot 1583 Grace 1586 George 1587 Gertrude 1588 Gertrude 1590 Richard 1592 Elizabeth 1593 Barnard 1593 Gulyan
At one stage I had also another George baptised 1583, also a Digory, but I suspect that both of these were errors.
And, as you know, I believe that George’s widow Julian went on to have a bastard son Thomas buried at St Just in Penwith in 1600.
All the best
John

Thank you, John. That's really helpful. I've writen them all down. I think you must be right about the Gertrudes not survivng, it would explain their not being mentioned in the will of course. But the dates of Julian and Barnard remain a puzzle. I remembered Thomas, perhaps Julian and George Keckevich got together a little before they married? That is if the records are right. There regularly seem to be other Digorys, Georges, dozens of Johns and Richards, etc. that just can't be traced; it's very frustrating.

I have Jane Oats who married William Harvey. She was the daughter of Thomas Oats and Mary Grenfell who married 1822 St. Just in Penworth, Cornwall. Would love to share info! Carla
