I have a query from Tom in ACT, AUS who is descended from:
18 Oct 1851 Marriage by banns at Lelant William TONKIN of full age miner of Ludgvan (father: John TONKIN, miner) to Jane UREN 19 of Uny Lelant ( bapt 29 April 1832, d/o Thomas UREN, miner, and Witnesses: Thomas UREN, James UREN
From 1841 and 1851 Census records it appears William was the son of John TONKIN and Ann (nee EDWARDS) who were married in Lelant Sept 1817. I can find baptisms for all William's siblings but no baptism for him.
Any suggestions?

I agree with your identification of the parents and have also had a look for a baptism for William without success.
My first thought was that it may have been a non-conformist baptism.
But children born either side of William were all baptised in the established Church so I would think it most unusual for an exception to be made in his case.
It is still possible of course.
But given Gwinear records are not yet readily available it is possible that the baptism is there but not yet transcribed - even by the LDS.
I cannot remember what the Gwinear PR is like but if it were similar to a couple of others in the area there may be entries in margins or squeezed in wherever it might fit.
For the moment I would suggest the correct link has been made.
