Hello everyone! I am back from my hols in sunny Cornwall and ;D and despiye o.d'ing on pasties, saffron cake and clotted cream I have obviously done a bit of research. I stumbled across a publication which may be of use to those with family from Newlyn in the 1930's. "The Rosebud and the Newlyn Clearances" In the back of the book it lists Newlyn tenants and landlords in the "slum" area of Newlyn, known as the "backside" rather unkindly. My Grandfather spoke to me of it and when it was demolished. The lists of tenants and landlords, several of whose surnames look all too familiar, is nearly as good as a mini-census for the 1930's! Hope that helps. M Here is an Amazon link to the book. www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/1850221839/greatbritain-21/203-9917361-7453519?ie=UTF8&camp=1634&link_code=xm2
