It's a toss up whether this should be under Lelant, Ludgvan or Madron, and I think I've posted this in some form before but let's try again, with feeling! For some time I've been looking for where James Dunstan, his wife Mary Thomas Dunstan and son William T. Dunstan are buried. James was christened in Uny Lelant 22 April 1821 and died in Canon's Town 22 Nov 1906 (Penzance Dec Vol 5c page 146). He and his family lived in Ivy Cottage in Canon's Town. He was an Elder of the Wesleyan Methodist Church, a lay preacher and Superintendent of the Sunday school there. According to the church history, when he died scholars walked to Lelant cemetery in procession for the burial service. During a visit to the cemetery in 2005 I was not able to locate a burial site, nor that of his wife Mary Thomas or son William T. Dunstan. Mary Thomas was born in Towednack 22 Jan 1822 and died in Canon's Town 15 April 1901 (Penzance Vol 5c page 153). William T. Dunstan was born in Ludgvan (Canon's Town?) 22 Jan 1862 and died about 1889? Any help would be much appreciated, as usual.

Strange that the Church history mentions scholars walking to Lelant Cemetery for the burial when there appears no evidence he is/was buried there. I had an idea there was a small cemetery in Canonstown but I am unable to find that. However there is a Methodist Chapel Cemetery at Crowlas where there are apparently 160 entries recorded. From Genuki - the CFHS have published MI's for this cemetery although I don't have access to them. Worth a try anyway. CT
