Hi there; I am wondering which commercial site has the most complete Parish Records to reference Does Findmypast.com have a reasonably complete set of Parish records for cornwall, I know Ancestry.com does not have the best in Parish Records for England atm. Or does the IGI have a complete set of Parish Records to use for Cornwall and I can save some $$$. ;D

From what I understand FindMyPast will provide more information than IGI - e.g. details of abode at time of marriage. I would caution very strongly against using IGI as your only source for any of the information you are after!! I have had too much experience with errors occuring in IGI and there are far too many confusing entries submitted by patrons. Use IGI only as a tool but be wary. There are still many options available although nothing that has complete and comprehensive coverage for Cornwall or, I suspect, for any other County. The Cornwall Online Parish Clerks site is extremely good and allows email contact with the various Online Clerks who are willing to perform lookups for information not currently included on the site. Another one that I find useful:- www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,52054.0.html Here you will find links to transcriptions of many of the Parishes of Cornwall. Not all are covered and some have only partial coverage but this is a very useful site nonetheless. Another site which is very good, particularly for West Penwith, is:- west-penwith.org.uk/There are probably others but these are the ones I uitilise most. CT

I use Findmypast and it has a lot of Cornwall info.
Far more than I would have found anywhere else.
