Okay - details of marriage noted, thankyou.
There are a couple of things still notably missing for the family of Richard Truewheeler and Martha Snow.
But you will need to keep in mind that the surname varies quite a bit in spelling and could appear as Trewheeller, Trewheellar etc.
Might be only one 'e' with two 'l's or could be only one 'l' etc. etc.
Briefly:-
Richard Truewheeler married Martha Snow 24th July 1784 at St Gluvias
Known children:-
John bp. 27th March 1785 St Gluvias
As far as we know John married Anna Henriette Dorothea Berg although we don't know where or exactly when.
He had two children baptised at St Mary Magdalene, Woolwich, Kent and a number of others born in Russia.
Martha Tremeling bp. 27th May 1787 St Gluvias
Martha was buried at Stoke Damerel 2nd November 1791 age 4yrs 6 mths
Ann bp. 31st January 1790 at Stoke Damerel
Ann is supposed to have also gone to Russia and the information I have is that she married someone named Clark in Russia.
I now start to wonder about that information and will detail below.
Thomas no baptism information found
Thomas married Dinah Theresa Goodson 31st August 1822 at Newington St Mary, Surrey (Dinah died in Liverpool in 1835)
Thomas married again 26th July 1836 at St Mary, Edge Hill, Lancashire to Mary Ann Callan (nee Parker), a widow.
Mary Ann married again in 1850 but no death/burial record has been found for Thomas.
Thomas had five children from his first marriage of whom one died as a child, another at age 19 and one unaccounted for.
The remaining two children went to New Zealand.
Martha no baptism found
Martha is only known because I found a burial record for her.
Martha daughter of Richard and Martha Trewhella of Plymouth age 4 buried 11th September 1798 St Gluvias
Martha (nee Snow) died in London.
Martha Trewheeler of Brewer Street, Saint George, Bloomsbury age 57 was buried at Saint George, Bloomsbury 8th December 1821
And now I get to the 'wants list'.
1. Death/burial record for Richard Trewheeler (born 1761)
Richard may have died in Devon, Kent or somewhere else in London but no record has yet been found.
2. Marriage of John Trewheeler to Anna Henriette Dorothea Berg.
This is not found in the current batch of records for Russia that are available on the LDS Beta site.
The marriage may or may not have taken place in Russia but some information says that his eldest son was William Frederick who was born in England.
The two children baptised at Greenwich were Richard and John Coulter in 1810 and 1813.
If William was born in England then it is possible the marriage also occurred in England but no record of either event has been found.
3. Birth/baptism record for Thomas son of Richard and Martha.
I would now expect this to have occurred in Devon but again no record has been found.
Likewise no record of his death or burial has been found.
His second marriage occurred in July 1836 so unless he died within twelve months then there should be some record in FreeBMD.
It is possible that he ventured to see his brother in Russia.
4. I have a burial for the last known child - Martha at St Gluvias in 1898.
She was probably born in Devon also but I have not found the baptism as yet.
5. Any further children of Richard and Martha.
Given no baptism record has yet been found for Martha or Thomas then it is possible there were other children that we have not found.
I certainly now think it possible there was another daughter - Elizabeth.
Ann is known to exist because of the baptism record but perhaps the information that it was she who married Mr Clark may be incorrect.
In the Russian records on FamilySearch Beta I found -
James Truewheeler Clark born 7th February 1826 and baptised 18th October 1826 British Chaplaincy, Saint Petersburg, Russia son of Charles and ELIZABETH Clark.
Although James is not a name featuring in this Trewheeler family I am now thinking that Elizabeth Clark may have been a daughter of Richard and Martha Trewheeler.
Perhaps significantly they named a daughter Elizabeth MARTHA Clark and also a son George RICHARD Clark.
The ealiest known child to Charles and Elizabeth Clark was born in 1821 and the last known in 1839.
From that I would deduce that Elizabeth was born no earlier than 1791 and no later than about 1805.
I hope I have not confused you with all of this but if I can find answers to some (or preferably all!
) of these I would be ecstatic!
