Most Parish Registers and Bishop's Transcripts for most parishes have gaps in the early years, which I have dubbed "Black Holes". All of us have ancestors whose baptisms or burials got swallowed up in one of those holes.
The earliest registers for Gwithian begin in 1560 and are remarkably complete, but there are a few missing years.
Below are the missing years. This may be helpful for those compiling early Gwithian families, where persons are known to exist from Wills or other records, but whose birth or death cannot be found. Knowing which years are not extant can often help to narrow down the time period of the missing events.
Baptisms - missing years:
pre 1560 1564 1579-1580 1596 * 1607-1613 1636 1643-1652 1657-1658 1686-1696** 1707
* this year is listed, but reads "none" ** One earlier year in the 1690s exists, but the year is torn off
Note: Some mixed baptisms for various years in the 1640s-1660s are scattered here and there thru the register.
Burials - missing years:
pre 1560 1578-1580 1586 1628 1644-1651 1657 1690 1693-1694 1723

Just a note: Apparently the Bishop's Transcript for Gwithian covers the missing years 1690, 1693-1696, 1723 but I have not personally seen them.
