In the 1841 census for Grigs, Lelant, Thomas Treglown is listed as age 23, blacksmith, with family Susan age 20, Mary ((Jane)) age 3, James age 2 and Susan age 5 months. Thomas and Susan (Susanna Randall Dunstan) were married abt August 1837. Susan died 4 March 1847. In 1848 and 1851 Mary Jane lived with her grandparents James Dunstan and Mary (Nicholas Ould) Dunstan in Canon's Town. In the 1851 census for Griggs, Lelant, Thomas Treglown is listed as age 36, flour dealer and smith, with family "Mary A". age 37, b. Newlyn, Margaretta age 7 and Susan age 5. It therefore appears that Thomas married "Mary A." after Susan died, leaving Mary Jane with the Dunstans. Presumably her siblings James and Susan had died earlier. Any comments would be welcomed. PS to above: I've posted my family tree to rootsweb, see: wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=newfoot-tree. Any errors or omissions are my own given that I am not the most organized or systematic researcher.

Thanks to support on Rootsweb I've found that Mary A. was Mary Ann Tonkin Trahair, George Maddern's widow. Thomas Treglown and Mary Ann were married 12 Dec 1850 in Paul.

Here is that marriage entry in case you have not seen it:-
16 Apr 1841 by Banns George Maddern full age Joiner of Paul (Father: John Maddern, Farmer) Mary Ann Tonkin Trahair full age Servant of Paul (Father: Thomas Trahair, Merchant) Witnesses: James Trahair, Bill Maddern
Cannot find a burial for George Maddern at Paul which strikes me as being a little strange.
Mary Ann Tonkin TRAHER (Trahair) was baptised 21st June 1812 at Paul d/o Thomas and Mary.
Thomas Trahair m. Mary TONKIN 20th July 1811 at St Just in Penwith.
Hope that is of some use to you.

Thanks Ian. I found this for George Maddern:
Died 25 August 1842 Boscawen Noon, St. Buryan (perhaps Penzance Vol 9 page 119?).
