Hello everyone,
Jenny mentioned something a while back that I had failed to pick up on at the time. In our search for the missing William Davies b1799-1800 we noted that Jenny's ancestor William Davies (jnr) who married Mary Bryant had a witness at their wedding, Alexander Berryman. I decided to have a look into this fellow and may have stumbled across something. There seems to be a possible connection between the Berryman and Bryant families in the area, and possibly with Davies.
Alexander Berryman the witness (jnr) I believe to be born 1826 Madron/Penzance to Alexander Berryman Snr and Jane (poss Hawke). Alexander Berryman Snr born 1795 in Ludgvan to Alexander Berryman and Susannah Pooley, married in Gulval in 1794.
William Davies and Grace Pooley in Crowan, 1798. There was a son William baptised in 1800 to a William and Grace in Crowan, trouble is that there are others so it needs to be checked out- could be our missing William Davies b1799/1800 perhaps?
A possible birth for Grace Pooley is 1775, Saint Buryan, d/o William Pooley. However there are other Grace Pooley's in Crowan too.

GRACE POOLEY - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Christening: 02 FEB 1775 Saint Buryan, Cornwall, England d/o William Pooley.
Interestingly, George Berryman (b 1797) Alexander's brother, marries Elizabeth Vingoe (possible later Davies connection).
I have also found a Thomas Bryant who marries Mary Berryman, 28th Dec 1831. Mary was the daughter of William Bryant and Mary Paynter. I haven't got much information for Thomas Bryant.
Later we have the marriage of William Davies and Mary Bryant with a witness Alexander Berryman.
Now was Alexander related on the Pooley side to William Davies or on the Bryant side to Mary Bryant? Or am I reading too much into coincidences with fairly typical names for the area or does there seem to be a connection between these families givent the tendency of intermarriage at the times?
Any thoughts?
